Police investigate Goorambat collision

Benalla Highway Patrol officers are investigating a collision in Goorambat that left five people with injuries last night.

It is understood a truck collided with a blue Ford Ranger utility which was towing a caravan on Benalla-Yarrawonga Road just before 7pm.

The collision pushed the vehicles into trees, where a branch then fell onto the roof of the car.

There were five occupants inside the utility:

- The driver, a 72-year-old man, was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries

- A 30-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries

- A 10-year-old girl was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

- A 9-year-old boy was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

- A 70-year-old woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old Bundalong man, was not injured and stopped at the scene.

He was interviewed by police and released pending further enquiries.
