Police Investigate Kew Criminal Damage

Boroondara Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after more than 30 cars were damaged in Kew on Anzac Day.

It is understood a man drove a yet to be identified older model sedan, with only one working headlight and a covered rear window, to Kew about 5.30am.

The man stopped the car in Wishart Street, Hunter Street, Lady Locks Drive, Goldthorns Avenue, Campbell Street, John Street and Rowland Street.

Investigators were told the man exited the car at each location and scratched several cars with a sharp object. The windows of some vehicles were also damaged.

At this stage the damage is estimated to be in excess of $100,000.

Detectives have released CCTV footage of a man they believe may be able to assist with enquires and a vehicle of interest.
