Police investigate Maribyrnong armed robberies

Altona North Embona Taskforce detectives are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man following two recent armed robberies in Maribyrnong, Victoria Police say.

The first incident took place on 30 September at a service station on Hampstead Road.

Investigators have been told a man entered the store about 9.10pm and produced a firearm, making threats and demanding cash from the attendant.

The staff member handed over a quantity of money and the man fled the store.

Detectives believe the same man attended a pharmacy on Hampstead Road shortly before 9pm on 17 October.

On this occasion, the man again produced a firearm and stole an amount of cash from the register before fleeing west along Hampstead Road.

No one was injured during either incident.

Police have released images and CCTV footage of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived as Caucasian in appearance and about 170-180cm tall.

The man was wearing grey tracksuit pants and a black hooded jacket during the first incident, and a black jacket, dark blue pants and a beanie at the time of the second.

Anyone who recognises the man or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
