Police investigate Melbourne glassing

Detectives from Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance to identify three offenders after an unprovoked assault in Melbourne in July.

Police have been told the victim was standing on the street when he was attacked by three men at the corner of Gallaghers Place and Little Collins Street on Saturday 10 July about 10.35pm.

It is believed that one of the offenders smashed a wine bottle in the victim's face causing serious injuries.

The first man is believed to be aged in his 20s and is described as Caucasian in appearance with short brown hair.

He was wearing white runners, black jeans, a navy and white striped rugby style t-shirt and a denim Sherpa jacket.

The second man is believed be aged in his 20s and is described as having an olive complexion with short brown hair.

He was wearing black runners, black jeans, a black t-shirt and a grey hooded jacket.

The third man is believed be aged in his 20s and is described as Caucasian in appearance with light-coloured hair.

He was wearing white runners, ripped blue jeans, a black jumper with a "tiger" logo, a light-coloured collared shirt and a white cap.

Police have released an image of three people they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
