Police investigate Mooroopna assault

Shepparton police are appealing for public assistance after a man was seriously assaulted in Mooroopna earlier this month.

Officers have been told the victim, a 23-year-old man from Ardmona, was walking along Echuca Road about 11pm on Wednesday 18 September.

As he approached the bus stop at the Mooroopna High School he was set upon by two men.

The pair coward punched the victim and knocked him to the ground. They then kicked him to the head a number of times before walking off along Echuca Road.

The victim suffered serious facial injuries and was taken to a Melbourne hospital for treatment.

The men were perceived to be Aboriginal in appearance, 18-20 years old, tall and with solid builds.
