Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault at a Morwell motel last week, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told that the victim approached a man and a woman who were walking through the Princes Drive motel car park on 13 November just after 3pm.
After a short conversation the man punched the victim to the head several times before the pair walked from the premises.
The victim fell to the ground unconscious, sustaining a fractured jaw, a bloody nose and an injury to his eye.
Investigators have released CCTV security footage and images of a man and a woman who they believe can assist with their investigation.
