Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a 51-year-old woman in Northcote last night.
Officers were called to a residence on Brickworks Lane after the woman's body was located by a family member shortly before 8pm.
A crime scene has been set up while detectives work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Investigators will await the results of a post mortem today to determine the Northcote woman's cause of death.
