Police investigate Oakleigh East home invasion

Monash Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following an aggravated home invasion in Oakleigh East on 10 May.

Police have been told three men attended a house on Turnbull Avenue when a man answered the door just after 9pm.

It is believed one of the offenders produced a firearm and made threats to the victim before punching him and assaulting him with the firearm.

The offenders entered the house and stole his phone when a female friend at the house intervened.

The offenders, all described as being aged in their 20s and wearing dark clothing, fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

An Oakleigh East man was taken to hospital with facial injuries.

Investigators have released an image of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
