Police investigate robbery at Inglewood

Police are investigating after a service station staff member was assaulted during a robbery this morning near Inglewood.

About 6.30am a female staff member unlocked her work premises on the Cunningham Highway at Oman Ama when two men wearing balaclavas approached her from inside the locked business. She tried to run away but one of the men tackled her to the ground and forced her back into the store.

They demanded cash and cigarettes and left the store a short time later in a silver commodore sedan. The car was last seen headed south on the Inglewood-Stanthorpe Road.

The staff member received cuts and abrasions but did not require medical attention.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have been driving in the area or has dashcam vision to contact police.
