Police investigate Rockbank aggravated burglary

Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a teenager following an aggravated burglary in Rockbank this morning, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a group of six to eight males, perceived to be of African appearance, smashed a rear window of a Sassafras Way residence just after 3am.

A 42-year-old male occupant confronted the intruders and was hit by one of the offenders with a piece of wood causing non-life threatening injuries.

Two other occupants in the house at the time were not injured.

The offenders stole a set of keys before driving off in a Toyota sedan which was located this morning dumped in Melton.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested today and is currently being interviewed and the investigation is ongoing.
