Police Charge Man After House Fire At Dubbo

A man has been charged following a house fire in the state's Orana region earlier this week.

About 11am on Tuesday 15 September 2026, emergency services were called to Houston Drive, Dubbo, following reports of a house fire.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District attended and found a house well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the flames.

No injuries were reported.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

Following inquiries, about 3.30pm on Wednesday (16 September 2026), police arrested a 24-year-old man on Wheelers Lane, Dubbo.

He was taken to Dubbo Police Station, where he was charged with damage property by fire/explosives greater than $15000 (DV).

The man was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 4 yesterday (Thursday 17 September 2026), where he was formally refused bail to reappear before Dubbo Local Court on Tuesday 22 September 2026.
