Police Investigate Serious Assault At Russell Island

Detectives from the Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating a reported serious assault at Russell Island overnight, 5 June.

Initial information indicates that at around 8:50pm, emergency services were called to a Roebuck Street address following a 60-year-old Russell Island man sustaining serious injuries.

Upon arrival, officers declared a crime scene and took a 57-year-old Russell Island man who was at the location into custody.

The 60-year-old man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have any relevant vision, including CCTV of the area around the time of the incident, or information to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
