Police Investigate Stabbing Pirie Street

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Pirie Street last night.

About 9pm on Thursday 19 February, the victim and a friend were on Pirie Street, near Devonshire Place, Adelaide when they were approached by an unknown man.

They became involved in an altercation with the man, who then pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed the victim in the abdomen.

The victim, a 40-year-old Redwood Park man, was driven to hospital by his friend, where he underwent surgery and remains in a stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Crime scene investigators attended and examined the scene this morning.

The suspect is described as a man of Caucasian appearance, about 183 cm tall, aged in his late 20s, with a medium build, short hair and was wearing a baseball cap. He was also carrying a pizza box.

Investigations are continuing.
