Police investigate suspicious fires in Greensborough

Police are investigating a series of incidents which occurred in Greensborough late last night.

Emergency services responded to reports of a car fire in a car park near Main Street, Greensborough about 11.30pm.

During this time, a passer-by notified police of a second fire at a take away food shop in Main Street.

It is understood a number of other shops along Main Street had also been damaged.

Both fires were extinguished shortly after and no one was injured as a result of either incident.

The exact cause of the fires is yet to be established however they are being treated as suspicious.

At this stage investigators believe the fires and damage to several shops may be related.

The investigation remains ongoing.
