Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a series of attempted carjackings in Morwell last Monday.
During the first incident, a 20-year-old man and female passenger were travelling along Churchill Road when they were flagged down by a man standing in the middle of the road about 9.20pm.
The victim has stopped the car to avoid hitting the man, when a second man has appeared and tried to open the passenger side door.
The victims have managed to lock their doors and the offenders have begun hitting the car and the victims have driven away.
Fifteen minutes later, a 25-year-old man was returning to his car at a fast-food outlet car park on Princes Drive.
Two men have approached him and asked for a lift and cigarettes, which the victim has refused.
One of the offenders has pulled out a knife and told the victim to hand over his car keys.
The victim has managed to grab a screwdriver from his vehicle and fend off the offenders before getting in his car and driving away.
The third incident occurred when a pizza delivery driver returned to his car after completing an order at 9.47pm.
As the 29-year-old was locking his car, he was approached from behind by two men who demanded the victim's car keys.
After the victim refused, one of the offenders threatened the victim with a knife.
The victim began running towards the Princes Drive pizza store, when the man armed with the knife attempted to stab him.
He's managed to make it inside the store safely and the offenders have fled on foot.
None of the victims were physically injured during the incidents.
Investigators have released CCTV footage and a computer-generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
The first man is perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his late teens to early 20s, about 177cm tall and wearing a black hooded jacket, black sunglasses and black tracksuit pants.
The second man is perceived to be Caucasian, aged in his late teens to early 20s, with a slim build and wearing all black.
