Police investigating after armed robbery of man at Tamworth

Police are appealing for information as an investigation continues into the alleged armed robbery of a man in the state's northeast.

About 2.30am on Saturday (23 November 2019), a 19-year-old man walked along Hilvue Road in South Tamworth when a white dual cab utility – believed to be stolen - stopped beside him.

It is alleged up to four men, their faces covered by clothing, exited the utility and demanded the man's property while threatening him with a knife.

The 19-year-old handed the men his phone and wallet before running from the scene uninjured.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District were notified of the incident and commenced inquiries.

The men – described as being about 170cm tall and of a thin build - were last seen driving the utility along Duri Road and into the Coledale area.
