Police investigating after man stabbed - Neutral Bay

An investigation is underway after a man was seriously assaulted and stabbed on Sydney's Lower North Shore yesterday.

About 4pm yesterday (Sunday 28 February 2021), a 25-year-old man and a 39-year-old man were walking along Park Avenue at Neutral Bay when they were allegedly confronted by two unknown men.

One of the men allegedly assaulted the 25-year-old man by punching him several times to the face and head, before stabbing him in the head, neck, back and chest.

The two unknown men then fled the scene.

Emergency services were called by witnesses and NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man on nearby Byrnes Avenue, before he was taken to Royal North Shore hospital.

The man is in a serious but stable condition awaiting surgery.

The 39-year-old man was uninjured.

Officers from North Shore Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
