Police investigating after two men stabbed - Balmain

Police are investigating after two men were stabbed in Sydney's inner west overnight.

About 8.30pm (Tuesday 15 September 2020), emergency services were called to Darling Street, Balmain, following reports two men had been assaulted.

Police have been told the men, aged 18 and 22, were walking with a group of friends towards a bus stop near Gladstone Park with they became involved in a verbal altercation with two unknown males.

One of the men then allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the 18-year-old man in the stomach before fleeing the scene.

Officers are yet to determine how the 22-year old male was injured. He sustained stab wounds to one of his shoulders.

The injured men were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command have established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
