Police investigating robbery at Subway at Wynyard

At 8:35am on Thursday 20th October 2022 a male offender entered the Subway store at Goldie Street, Wynyard and made threats of violence while demanding cash from a staff member present.

The offender was provided with an amount of cash before fleeing the store.

Soon after, the same male offender entered the Pit Stop Café on Old Bass Highway where he stole a can of drink before leaving the premises.

A 25-year-old male offender, from Wynyard, was located and placed under arrest by police.

Burnie Criminal Investigation Branch wish to reassure the public that these were isolated incidents and did not cause any physical harm to members of the community. The offender was apprehended quickly and will remain in custody pending a court appearance later in the day.
