Police investigating series of car burglaries in Blackmans Bay overnight

Police are investigating a series of motor vehicle burglaries in the Blackmans Bay area early this morning.

"Kingston CIB are investigating nine vehicles entered on Crystal Downs Drive and the surrounding streets in the early hours this morning, potentially between 2-5am" said Detective Sergeant Lee Carr.

The vehicles were parked on the side of the road and in private driveways and had a number of items stolen.

"All of the nine vehicles entered were unlocked which makes it timely for police to remind vehicle owners to protect their belongings," said Detective Sergeant Lee Carr.

"Thieves are often opportunistic and will take advantage of anyone who leaves their vehicle or belongings unlocked and unattended. Locking your property and keeping valuables out of sight are two easy steps that can prevent your vehicle and belongings from being a target for burglars."

Anyone with information in relation to the burglaries, or suspicious activity in the area around the time of the burglaries, is asked to contact Kingston CIB on 6173 2076 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
