Police investigating wounding at Kallangur

A 28-year-old Kallangur man has been charged in relation to the alleged stabbing of a man at Kallangur early this morning (September 16).

Police were called to a Duffield Road residence just before 1am, where officers located a 43-year-old local man with a stab wound to his stomach.

It is alleged a man attended the address and smashed a bedroom window with an unknown implement. The victim opened the front door to investigate and was allegedly stabbed by the man.

Police provided first aid before he was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a stable condition.

Immediate patrols of the area located a 28-year-old man a short distance away where he was taken into custody.

Police investigations reveal the men are known to each other.

A 28-year-old man from Kallangur has been charged with one count each of wounding, wilful damage and contravene a domestic violence order.

His bail has been refused and he is expected to appear before Pine Rivers Magistrates Court this morning (September 16).
