Police investigating wounding at Rosewood

Police are investigating the circumstances of a wounding at a Rosewood school this morning.

Around 11:30am, police and emergency services responded to an incident involving three students.

Preliminary investigations suggest a 12-year-old boy and 13-year-old boy were in the schoolyard when they were allegedly approached by a 14-year-old boy and stabbed.

A 12-year-old boy was transported to hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries to his abdomen.

Another 13-year-old boy sustained minor injuries to his hand and was also transported to hospital.

The 14-year-old boy fled the scene on foot while the school enacted their lock-down procedures. He was arrested a short time later in a nearby street.

It is believed the three students were not known to each other.

Investigations are continuing.
