Police Lay Arson Charges, Redcliffe

A man has been charged with arson after a house fire in Clontarf on Saturday afternoon.

It will be alleged at 1.50pm the man used an accelerant to set fire to a house in Weaber Street before fleeing the house. He was located a short time later by a police dog squad unit.

No one was physically injured in the incident, and the house was destroyed.

A 36-year-old Dakabin man has been charged with one count arson (domestic violence) and will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Monday, 1 June.
