Police lay charges after Airport West aggravated burglary

Fawkner Embona Taskforce detectives have arrested a man in relation to an aggravated burglary in Airport West this month.

It is alleged a man forced entry into a Kendale Street home about 8.25pm on 19 July and made demands for cash, producing a firearm before assaulting an occupant inside.

The victim's vehicle was also stolen from the property but was located a short time later.

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 39-year-old Point Cook man has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle, recklessly cause injury and assault with a weapon.

He has been remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 25 July.
