A man will appear in court today charged over the alleged stabbing of another man in Sydney's west yesterday.
About 1.50am on Wednesday (29 September 2021), officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command stopped a silver Subaru Impreza, after it was detected speeding on the Hume Highway at Villawood.
When officers approached the vehicle, the front passenger – a 30-year-old man – exited the Subaru and collapsed on the road, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
NSW Ambulance attended and conveyed the injured man to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
The male driver was spoken to by police and assisted with inquiries.
Officers seized the Subaru for forensic examination.
Following investigations, police arrested a 31-year-old man at Bankstown Police Station, where he was subsequently charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police will allege in court that the man stabbed the younger man following an altercation at Robertson Road, Bass Hill, yesterday morning.
The Chester Hill man was refused bail and is due to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Thursday 30 September 2021).
Investigations are continuing.
