Driver Dies After Single Vehicle Crash At Pilliga

A driver has died after a single vehicle crash in the state's west today.

Just after 12.20pm today (Saturday 5 September 2026), emergency services were called to Mission Lane, Pilliga, following reports of a single vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District were told a 57-year-old man was suffering serious head injuries on the road before a rolled white ute was located nearby.

The man was treated by NSW paramedics before being airlifted Tamworth Hospital; however, he died at the hospital.

A crime scene has been established, and police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and death.

The vehicle was seized to be forensically examined.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
