Police lay charges after woman seriously injured after fail-to-stop crash

A woman has been charged after another woman was found seriously injured on a road in Sydney's west earlier this week.

About 3.45am (Monday 29 August 2022), emergency services were called to the intersection of Hythe Street near Luxford Road, Mt Druitt, after reports an injured woman was found on the roadway.

The 29-year-old woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Westmead Hospital suffering serious abdominal, leg and spinal injuries.

Officers from Mount Druitt Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit and an investigation commenced.

About 11.30am yesterday (Tuesday 30 August 2022), officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended Walters Road at Arndell Park and arrested a 22-year-old woman.

She was taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, fail to stop and assist after impact causing grievous bodily harm, cause actual bodily harm by misconduct (in charge of motor vehicle), negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and not provide particulars to police following a collision.

The Mount Druitt woman was refused bail and will appear in Blacktown Local Court today (Wednesday 31 August 2022).
