Police lay charges after woman sexually assaulted - Snowy Mountains

A man has been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a woman in the state's Snowy Mountains earlier this week.

On Tuesday (9 November 2021), officers from Monaro Police District commenced an investigation following reports a 28-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted by a man known to her.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 33-year-old man at Adaminaby about 11.45am yesterday (Tuesday 9 November 2021).

He was taken to Cooma Police Station and charged with aggravated sex assault – inflict actual bodily harm on victim.

Police will allege in court that the man sexually assaulted the woman at Adaminaby on Monday (8 November 2021).

The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Queanbeyan Local Court today (Wednesday 10 November 2021).
