Police lay charges - Aggravated assault - Palmerston 19 April

Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to a trespass incident on the weekend.

The 33-year-old man allegedly entered the property in Driver around 6pm on Friday 16 April, while the occupants were at home.

Two residents confronted the man and an altercation took place, during which the occupants were able to restrain the man and held him until police and St John Ambulance arrived.

The alleged offender was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital for assessment.

He has since been charged with:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Armed with an offensive weapon
  • Trespass on enclosed premises
  • Unlawfully damage property
  • Resist police in the execution of duty

He was remanded in custody to appear in court today.
