Police Lay Charges - Aggravated Burglary - Malak

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested and charged a 16-year-old male following an aggravated burglary in Malak earlier today.

Around 10am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a male youth had been observed on home CCTV footage unlawfully entering a residence on Magdelene Court.

The victim returned home with friends prior to police arrival and located the 16-year-old male still inside the residence. The offender allegedly armed himself with a knife and began damaging property inside the kitchen. The victim and his friends disarmed him and attempted to restrain him, during which he allegedly bit the victim to the chest.

Police arrived and arrested the 16-year-old without incident. The victim sought medical treatment for the bite injury.

The 16-year-old male has since been charged with Aggravated Assault, Burglary, and Damage to Property, and was remanded to appear in court tomorrow morning.
