Police lay charges - Aggravated robbery - Palmerston 23 March

Northern Territory Police have charged two men in relation to a violent theft in a Palmerston liquor store yesterday.

At approximately 4:30pm, two men, aged 31 and 36, attempted to enter a Palmerston liquor store. The 36-year-old was turned away by security. The 31-year-old entered and allegedly stole a bottle of spirits.

When confronted, he allegedly swung the bottle at a staff member before fleeing the scene with the other offender.

NT Police arrested the pair a short time later. Strike Force Trident officers have charged the 36-year-old man with:

  • 1 x Receiving stolen property

The 31-year-old has been charged with:

  • 1 x Aggravated robbery

And further charged for the unlawful entry of a business premises in Darwin on 5 January 2021:

  • 1 x Damage to property
  • 1 x Stealing
  • 1 x Unlawful entry - building

The men were remanded to appear in court later today.
