Police lay charges - Aggravated robbery in Coconut Grove 11 May

Northern Territory Police Strike Force Trident detectives have charged three youths, aged 13, 16 and 17, for multiple property offences in Coconut Grove.

On 27 April 2023, a 16-year-old male and an unknown co-offender unlawfully entered a bicycle business in Coconut Grove and stole two bicycles.

On Tuesday at 7:20pm, three alleged offenders entered a service station in Coconut Grove and stole confectionary items.

Later in the night at 12:05am on Wednesday, the same three alleged offenders unlawfully entered the same bicycle business in Coconut Grove and stole multiple items of very high value before fleeing to a service station on Totem Road.

At the service station, the attendant was threatened with a hammer and scissors. The alleged offenders caused significant damage and stole cash and other items.

Yesterday, detectives apprehended all three youths and conveyed them to the Palmerston Watch House.

The 17-year-old male was charged and remanded to appear in court today for:

  • Aggravated robbery
  • Damage to property x 2
  • Shoplifting
  • Theft
  • Aggravated burglary

The 16-year-old male was charged and remanded to appear in court today for:

  • Unlawful entry - building
  • Aggravated robbery
  • Damage to property x 3
  • Shoplifting
  • Aggravated burglary
  • Stealing
  • Theft

The 13-year-old female was charged and remanded to appear in court today for:

  • Aggravated robbery
  • Damage to property x 2
  • Shoplifting
  • Aggravated burglary
  • Theft
