Police lay charges - Domestic violence in Darwin 28 February

Northern Territory Police Domestic and Family Violence Unit detectives, along with Strike Force Lyra, have charged a 25-year-old man with multiple domestic violence offences against his partner over the past month.

Members from the Dog Operations Unit arrested the man yesterday in Berrimah, where he has since been charged with:

  • Aggravated assault x 5
  • Choking, strangling or suffocating in a domestic relationship
  • Damage property x 3
  • Contravene domestic violence order x 9
  • Unlawful entry
  • Drive manner dangerous
  • Disorderly behaviour x 2
  • Drive unlicensed x 3

He remains in custody and is expected to be charged at a later date.
