Police lay charges - Fatal crash - Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have charged the driver involved in the fatal crash at Moulden yesterday.

The 28-year-old man returned a presumptive roadside drug test for amphetamine and a sample of his blood will be subjected to forensic toxicological analysis.

He was charged with:

  • Driver drive under influence of drugs
  • Drive a motor vehicle while unlicensed
  • Drive unregistered motor vehicle
  • Drive uninsured motor vehicle

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said, "Further investigation and forensic crash analysis by Major Crash detectives, in consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions, will determine whether additional charges are laid against the driver."

The man has been issued a Notice to Appear in court on 16 October 2023.
