Police lay charges, goods recovered after operation targeting break-ins at Inverell

A man has been charged with multiple drug and break-in offences following investigations into a break and enter at a home in the state's north.

Between 11.30pm Monday 30 September 2019 and 7am on Tuesday 1 October 2019, a home was broken into on Old Bundarra Road at Inverell and items, including a laptop and a handbag, were stolen.

Officers attached to New England Police District commenced an investigation into the matter.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant on a home at Wattle Street, Inverell, about 8.15am on Friday (4 October 2019).

Police recovered items – including a laptop – alleged to be goods stolen during break-ins.

Police also located cannabis and methamphetamines.

A 22-year-old man was arrested and taken to Inverell Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break enter and steal (x2), possess prohibited drug, and larceny.

He was bail refused to appear before Inverell Local Court on Thursday 28 November 2019.
