Police lay charges in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested two people following an incident in Alice Springs on Sunday morning.

Around 4am police received a report two men had made a number of threats to people in the CBD area, with what appeared to be a firearm.

Police subsequently arrested two males and located a gel blaster inside their vehicle.

Two males aged 17 and 18-years-old have been arrested and charged with one count each of Assault - threaten with firearm/weapon and Possess, use or carry a prohibited weapon.

A 17-year-old male has been remanded to appear before court on 25 March, 2021.

A 18-year-old male has been bailed to appear before court on 12 April, 2021.
