A teenager has been charged as investigations continue into two alleged break and enters at homes in the state's northwest.
Just after midnight on Saturday 12 November 2022, officers from Oxley Police District were called to Cormie Avenue, Wee Waa, following reports a home was broken into and a handbag, wallet, and keys were allegedly stolen.
A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced.
On Friday (18 November 2022), officers responded to an alleged break and enter at a home in Rose Street, Wee Waa, after two cars were stolen from the property.
Later that day, the vehicles – a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota Prado – were recovered at a showground in Maitland Street, Wee Waa.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators seized a mobile phone for forensic examination and arrested a 15-year-old boy on Rose Street, Wee Waa, about 3pm yesterday (Sunday 20 November 2022).
He was taken to Wee Waa Police Station and charged with aggravated break enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, larceny, and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
The boy was refused bail to appear before a Children's Local Court today (Monday 21 November 2022).
Investigations are continuing.
