Police lay charges over drug offences - Palmerston 2 March

Northern Territory Police have charged two men with drug offences following a significant seizure of methamphetamine.

Officers from the Drugs and Organised Crime Section executed search warrants in Yarrawonga and Gunn yesterday.

During the searches, police located a commercial quantity of methamphetamine, a large amount of cash and items indicative of drug supply.

Police arrested two men, aged 37 and 28, on site.

The 37-year-old has been charged with:

  • 2 x Supply schedule 1 drug - commercial quantity
  • 2 x Possess schedule 1 drug - commercial quantity
  • Import marketable quantity of drugs
  • Receive property - commission of offence
  • Possess schedule 1 drug - trafficable quantity - public place
  • Possess schedule 1 drug - less than trafficable quantity

The 28-year-old was charged with:

  • Supply schedule 1 drug - commercial quantity
  • Possess schedule 1 drug - commercial quantity
  • Import marketable quantity of drugs

Both have been remanded, to appear in Darwin Local Court on 9 March and 27 April.
