Police lay charges over property offences in Darwin 3 November

Northern Territory Police have arrested a woman and two youths for property offences around Darwin yesterday.

At 10:20am, a 15 and 17-year-old male, a 37-year-old woman and a number of unknown offenders allegedly entered a business on Harriet Place and stole a number of small items.

A short time later, the group was allegedly involved in robberies at other businesses and locations in Harriet Place, Smith Street and Shadforth Lane. In two instances, one of the youths allegedly threatened a victim with an edged weapon.

The trio allegedly travelled to Ludmilla before entering a service station on Bagot Road and using stolen credit cards to purchase items.

Detectives from Strike Force Trident and general duties located the offenders in a shopping precinct on Bagot Road, where all three were arrested without incident.

The 15-year-old was charged with:

  • Aggravated robbery
  • Aggravated assault
  • Obtain benefits by deception
  • Going armed in public

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

The 17-year-old was charged with:

  • Aggravated robbery
  • Going armed in Public

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local court today.

The 37-year-old woman was issued a Notice To Appear.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said "Investigations into all these incidents are ongoing and we are urging anyone with information to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10162264.

"You can also make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000."
