Police lay charges over traffic offences - Durack

Northern Territory Police have charged a 46-year-old man for traffic offences in Darwin yesterday.

About 4pm, police observed a vehicle travelling along Kirkland Road with wood that was not properly secured dragging behind the vehicle.

Members stopped the vehicle and discovered the driver was disqualified from driving for 12 months. The man was arrested and taken to Palmerston Watch House, where he returned a positive result to drugs.

He was charged with:

  • drive disqualified x 3
  • drive motor vehicle with prohibited drug in blood
  • drive motor vehicle insecure load
  • drive unsafe motor vehicle
  • stealing

The man will face Darwin Local Court on 9 February 2021.
