Police lay charges over unlawful entry in Alice Springs 2 September

Northern Territory Police have charged a male in relation to an unlawful entry in Alice Springs in April.

Sometime between the 27 and 29 April 2022, a residence on Latz Crescent was unlawfully entered, causing damage to the property, with a number of small items stolen.

An 18-year-old male was arrested overnight by general duties members and has since been charged by detectives from Strike Force Viper with:

  • Damage to property
  • Unlawful entry
  • Stealing

He was remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court today.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Robert Kent said, "General Duties, Strike Force Viper and the Forensics Unit all worked together in order to facilitate this arrest.

"It doesn't matter how much time passes, property offenders can be identified and prosecuted by Strike Force Viper well after the offence has occurred."
