Police lay charges - Robberies - Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to two robberies in Palmerston.

Around 9pm on 28 September 2022, it is alleged the 35-year-old male offender, in the company of three others, attended a licenced premises on Chung Wah Terrace. The group allegedly assaulted an employee before stealing a quality of alcohol and fleeing the scene.

Around 9:25pm on Monday 3 October, the 35-year-old has allegedly returned to the location armed with a blunt weapon and threatened a member of staff before stealing a quantity of alcohol. He has returned 5 minutes later and stole a further quantity of alcohol.

He was located by police that night and has since been charged by detectives from Serious Crime with:

  • 2 x Aggravated robbery
  • 1 x Stealing
  • 1 x Furnish false name

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Andrew Kren said "Investigators have identified a number of co-offenders and efforts are currently underway to locate them.

"This behaviour is completely unacceptable and those involved will face court for their actions."
