Police Lay Murder Charge At Daisy Hill

Detectives from Logan Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have upgraded a woman's charge from attempted murder to murder following the death of a man at Daisy Hill last month.

Emergency services were called to a Marbura Court address around 3pm on 30 May, where a man and woman were located semi-conscious.

The 18-year-old man was transported to hospital where he remained in an induced coma before passing away on 4 June.

The woman was also transported to hospital where she remained in an induced coma before recovering on 1 June.

An investigation was launched under Operation Xray GRIT with assistance from the Homicide Investigation Unit and a crime scene was established at the residence and forensic examinations were conducted.

The woman, who is known to the man, was initially charged with attempted murder which has now been upgraded to murder.

The 40-year-old Daisy Hill woman is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, 23 July.

Detective Senior Sergeant Daniel Cunningham said the investigation has been meticulous and involved close collaboration across multiple specialist units.

"This is an incredibly tragic case that has had a devastating impact on all involved," Detective Senior Sergeant Cunningham said.

"Our investigators have worked methodically to gather evidence and support the victim's extended family through this complex and confronting investigation."
