Police lay robbery charges at Toowoomba

Police have charged two 16-year-old boys with robbery after a woman was allegedly forced out of her vehicle in Toowoomba on Thursday, August 13.

It will be alleged a group of boys tried to steal a vehicle from a woman in a Taylor Street car park around 8.10pm. When the woman refused to hand over her keys, the group left the car park.

A short time later, they confronted a 52-year-old woman in a Ruthven Street car park, before forcing her out of her Holden Commodore and driving off.

Around 3.25am on Saturday, police stopped the stolen vehicle on the Warrego Highway at Gatton where four boys were taken into custody.

A 16-year-old boy was charged with one count each of robbery in company, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and common assault.

Another 16-year-old boy has also been charged with one count each of robbery in company and common assault.

Two other 16-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy who were travelling in the Commodore have been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Investigations are continuing.
