Police Locate Driver Near Golf Course

An alleged car thief was arrested at Seaton yesterday afternoon.

Just after 4pm on Friday 26 April, a woman returned home from walking her dog to see her car being stolen from her Clark Terrace address.

The offender had also broken into the home and stolen her car keys and wallet, which contained an AirTag.

The victim was able to track her car and provide police with updates on its location.

Numerous patrols in the area for the Liv Golf event assisted and the stolen Subaru Forester was spotted on Tapleys Hill Road just before 5pm.

PolAir was called in to assist and located the vehicle abandoned in Lark Avenue just a few minutes later. Patrols were quickly on the scene and chased the suspect, who was jumping over fences in the area.

The 24-year-old Enfield man was arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass, illegal use, drive unlicensed, unlawful possession and theft. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

The stolen car was able to be returned to its owner.
