Police make arrest after drugs found in car

A man has been arrested today after methamphetamine was found in a car at Wynn Vale in August.

Police will allege that on 18 August, detectives from the Crime Gangs Task Force searched the vehicle as part of an ongoing investigation, locating 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Today, (Wednesday 9 September) police went to a Burton house and arrested a 38-year-old man living at the property.

He was charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, and was refused bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.

Detective Acting Chief Inspector Damian Minchenberg of the Crime Gangs Task Force says, "This should serve as a reminder to those who may consider associating themselves with Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs that they will be closely monitored. SAPOL and other law enforcement agencies will continue to investigate and take appropriate action to disrupt, disable and dismantle them. Those who attempt to traffic illicit drugs can face penalties of up to $500,000 and/or life imprisonment."
