Police Make Arrest After Incident In Beechboro

Detectives from the Serious and Organised Crime Division have charged a 39-year-old male after an incident in Beechboro on Thursday, 25 December 2025.

It will be alleged; about 4.40am, the accused, driving a vehicle stolen during a burglary in Darch on 24 December 2025; deliberately drove the vehicle into the front glass doors and wall of a cafe in Beechboro causing extensive damage to the building.

An unmarked police vehicle patrolling the area witnessed the incident and attempted to stop the vehicle resulting in a pursuit which ended in Kelly Place, Noranda where the accused was taken into custody.

The 39-year-old man from Bluff Point is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court 26 December 2025, charged with:

• Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property

• Steal Motor Vehicle

• Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police

• Driver of a Vehicle Failed to Comply with a Direction to Stop (circumstance of aggravation)

This incident is being investigated by Taskforce Maverick, which was established by the Western Australia Police Force on 24 November 2025 in response to multiple criminal damage by fire incidents at premises linked to the illicit tobacco trade in Western Australia.
