Police make arrest after theft of electrical wiring at Elizabeth Park, South Australia

Patrols caught a man prowling around a house under construction at Elizabeth Park overnight.

About 12.45am on Wednesday 10 April, police were patrolling the area when they spotted a man with a torch walking down the side of a house under construction on the corner of Daniel Street and Davey Street, Elizabeth Park.

The man saw police and ran off, jumping fences.

Patrols quickly cordoned off the area and conducted a search, locating the suspect nearby. It will be alleged his backpack, containing electrical wiring pulled from the house, a screwdriver and gloves, was found in the backyard of the house.

The 28-year-old Elizabeth Park man was arrested and charged with unlawfully on premises, going equipped to commit an offence, theft and breach of bail.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
