Police Make Arrest - Aggravated Assault In Darwin 31 March

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to an aggravated assault in Darwin overnight.

Around 8:25pm, police received reports that a man had attended a residence on Hands Court, Malak, armed with a knife.

The offender allegedly tried to enter the premises before being confronted by two male residents. An altercation has occurred, with the offender assaulting one of the male residents with the weapon before being subdued.

Police attended the scene and arrested the 37-year-old alleged offender where he was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital and remains under police guard.

The male victim was also conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital suffering non-life-threating laceration injuries.

Investigations into the incident, and the relationship between all parties, is ongoing.
