Police Make Arrest - Aggravated Assault In Darwin City 16 August

A 38-year-old female has been arrested in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred yesterday evening in Darwin City.

Around 8:35pm, Darwin general duties police were informed of an alleged stabbing incident that had occurred in front of a licenced premises on Mitchell Street.

It is alleged a 38-year-old female had stabbed a 35-year-old female to the side of the head with an edged weapon, causing a laceration, before leaving the scene.

St John Ambulance attended and conveyed the victim to hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and CCTV footage capturing the incident was reviewed. A short time later, the offender was located and arrested nearby.

She remains in police custody with charges expected to follow.
